Kang Wen Community Hours are located below. First office visits are 90 minutes and follow-up visits are 45 to 60 minutes. The clinic is closed on major holidays.

We encourage you to download the patient forms (see the link below) prior to your visit or you may pick-up these forms prior to your visit. **New Policy {May 19, 2010} You must bring these completed forms with you to your prior to you being scheduled for your first visit. Also we require a processing fee equal to your payment tier level.  This processing fee will be applied to your first visit or to no show fee.   Also, we encourage clients to bring in any recent laboratory records in order to help create an optimal treatment plan.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Your first appointment at Kang Wen will involve providing information on the new clients forms (see below) including your past health history. Kang Wen offers a sliding fee schedule based on monthly income levels.  We ask that you bring proof of income with you (a current paycheck stub, bank statement, tax return, or any document that provides information about your income). Without proof of income, all treatment fees are charged at full rates.  Kang Wen accepts only cash and checks at this time. Kang Wen does not offer billing to insurance companies but we can furnish you with a receipt for services to apply to your deductible.  Payment is due at the time of your appointment.

APPOINTMENTS:

The first appointment at Kang Wen is usually 1.5 hours including 30 minutes of your health history intake and 30-60 minutes of acupuncture and other treatments.   Follow-up appointments are usually 45-60 minutes depending on your health condition.

Practitioners will ask broad-reaching questions such as emotional and mental stuations, as well as physical symtoms. They may also feel multiple pulse points, look a the color of your tongue, inquire about lifestyle or dietary habits, and assess overall human functioning. A customized treatment plan will develope that may include Acupunture and Herbal and Nutritional Medicine.

Treatment plans at Kang Wen vary in length. Some range from once a week, while others may include longer periods of time over a course of several months depending on what your practitioner determines.

COST:

Kang Wen strives to provide affordable care to our patients. Our rates are based on providing you with the highest quality of care and are considerably lower than the majority of other practitioners in the local area.

Our sliding fee schedule is based on Federal Poverty Levels and incomes levels are adjusted for household size. To qualify for the sliding fee schedule, clients are asked to bring in proof of income.

The fee for the first visit is slightly higher due to the extended length of time the practitioner spends with the patient.  Our treatment fees range from $5 to $40.  Herbs are not included in this price, but are available at a reasonable additional cost.
